Know before you go

About Goa

November to February — dry days at 21–32°C with a calm, clear sea; January gives you peak-season weather without the December crowds. (Monsoon bonus: June–September is when Dudhsagar Falls runs at full force.)

  • Basilica of Bom Jesus

Consecrated in 1605 and part of the UNESCO World Heritage churches of Old Goa, this laterite basilica holds the relics of St. Francis Xavier — the feast in his honour fills Old Goa every 3rd of December.

  • Dudhsagar Falls

A four-tiered, roughly 310-metre cascade on the Mandovi River inside Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary, reached by a bumpy shared-jeep safari from Kulem — at its thundering best during and just after the monsoon.

  • Fontainhas, Panaji

Goa's Portuguese-era Latin Quarter: narrow lanes of ochre-yellow, green and indigo houses with azulejo-tiled name plates, best explored on a slow morning walk with a bakery stop.
